May is a month filled with special days. For Star Wars fans, May 4th is a day of fun. Memorial Day honors fallen members of the United States Armed Forces. Cinco de Mayo has its own significance in Mexico and the U.S. The second Sunday of May, though, is a day for the moms.
Cars For Sale helped two employees recognize their mothers with ‘Thank You’ letters and two video messages. Amy H. and Nathan W. each wrote a letter to their moms, thanking them for all they’ve done.
In her letter, Amy shared a humorous moment from her teenage years when she tried to convince her mom to co-sign a car loan just because it matched Amy’s hair. When Amy’s own daughter was involved in competitive dance, Amy and her mom spent countless hours on the road, laughing and making memories.
Nathan thanks his mom for driving him to numerous softball games in their Daewoo, and for driving him to basketball practice in their Chevy Blazer. He also thanked her for his first vehicle, a Buick Sentry, and for her understanding when he crashed a separate vehicle, his Nissan Altima.
Amy and Nathan were each filmed reading their letters, thinking that the videos would be shared with their moms on Mother’s Day. These two Cars For Sale team members were in for a surprise of their own, though. What Amy and Nathan didn’t know was that their mothers were in the room next door, listening in real-time.
When Amy’s mom walked around the corner, Amy had to reach for a tissue. Amy dabbed tears from her eyes as she and her mother exchanged a hug.
Nathan didn’t know what was happening when his mom showed up. A surprised Nathan asked his mother, “Oh gosh, were you standing there the whole time?”
Each mom was given a bouquet of flowers and the letters that were written for them.
You can watch both of the Mother’s Day surprises below. To them and to all the moms who make a difference, happy Mother’s Day.
