The Annual Bean Bag Tournament Rolls On
This year’s Big Game may have been a letdown for some, but the Cars For Sale bean bag competition wasn’t. 34 different teams partnered up to compete against each other in the 4th annual single-elimination tournament.

The 68 people participating this year found out who their partners were just before noon. All the pairings were random so last year’s champions, Preston S. and Max F., were split into new teams this year. Some people who had never played a game before ended up with others who won tournaments during summer family reunions. Other players were skilled but hadn’t played in years, so they had to shake the rust off.

In between meetings, phone calls, breaks, and tasks, six teams gathered in the lobby and competed against each other at the same time. Onlookers sat in the cafe with their snacks, either waiting their turn or taking in the free entertainment.

In the finals, Max and his new partner, Steve O., faced off against Team Matt, the duo of Matt K. and Matt P. The start was rough for Max and Steve with an initial score of 0 against over a dozen points for the two Matts. However, Max and Steve made the inevitable comeback, getting within 6 points of their competitors. The back-and-forth continued for several minutes. Matt and Matt’s lead was too much to overcome, though. They hit 21 points and claimed the victory.

Everyone walked away having a good time and now a new set of champions walk away with the bragging rights… until next year anyway!
