Carsforsale.com is seeking a talented System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our IT systems and services. You will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and enhancing our diverse technology stack while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge solutions.
What You Will Do
- Deploy, configure, and maintain virtualized environments using VMware, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
- Implement and maintain robust data backup and disaster recovery strategies using backup technologies to safeguard critical business data and applications
- Manage and administer network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls to ensure seamless connectivity and secure communication
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Linux and Windows server environments, ensuring the availability of services and applications
- Oversee and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including user accounts, group policies, and security settings
- Administer Office 365 services, including email, collaboration tools, and cloud-based applications, to support a modern and efficient workplace
- Work with AWS/Azure/Cloudflare to design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure cloud-based solutions
- Configure and maintain logging servers to monitor system performance, security incidents, and log analysis
- Develop and optimize scripts and automation workflows to streamline system administration tasks and enhance operational efficiency
- Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, service level agreements, and technical support coordination
- Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to assess system requirements, provide technical expertise, and propose innovative solutions
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience as a System Administrator with in-depth knowledge of VMware, Veeam, switches, routers, firewalls, Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Office 365, AWS, logging servers, scripting, and automation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges
- Solid understanding of networking protocols, security principles, and best practices
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and automation tools
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management and service-level agreement negotiations
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator)
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Docker Swarm, Docker Compose)
